Goshala that Serves the Koorathazhwan Temple Everyday

Welcome to our Goshala at Kooram village, which serves the Koorathazhwan Temple and is home to more than 30 native cows and a horse. It is a place of devotion and compassion, where your contribution and participation help feed and shelter cows, sustain daily temple rituals, uphold sacred traditions, and bring you closer to divine grace.

Mission

Our Mission at Kooram Goshala

"Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah"

The guiding principle of our service: Protect the Dharma, and Dharma will protect those who protect it.

As the Srimad Bhagavatam states, "The cow is our mother, for she gives us her milk" (SB 10.6.19). Protecting cows is protecting Dharma itself. Cow protection is regarded as a sacred duty in Sanatana Dharma, and by caring for cows, we uphold dharma in the purest form.

Native breeds are disappearing across India. At Kooram, we protect and care for over 30 indigenous cows who serve daily in temple kainkaryam. Protecting our native breeds is the greatest dharma today. These sacred desi cows are loved by Lord Krishna and need protection, love, and compassion.

How You Can Contribute

Your support helps us buy fresh fodder, pay for veterinary care, and maintain a clean shelter, making a direct difference in the lives of our cows, and ensures we have the necessary supplies for the continuity of temple rituals and traditions.

We warmly invite you and your family to visit our Goshala, experience the joy of serving these sacred animals, and see how your kindness sustains daily temple life.
